Situé dans le centre d’une grande ville vivante et dynamique, le Zebrastraat est également une fenêtre sur le monde de par les activités diverses qui s’y succèdent et auxquelles les habitants sont toujours associés, aussi bien dans les salons de rencontre que sur le parvis ou lors d’expositions ambitieuses.
Les habitants sont donc surtout des gens qui aiment la diversité et les changements et qui ont d’autres exigences que celles prévues dans les contrats de location classiques. La location à court terme à des prix forfaitaires séduit professeurs invités, étudiants Erasmus, chercheurs, artistes, jeunes ménages, musiciens, etc.
Living in the Zebrastraat
Whoever chooses for the Zebrastraat, chooses for a special way of living. The enclosed design of the site, with its inviting pedestrianized inner court, stimulates the contact between the inhabitants. Here people know one another.
At the same time the Zebrastraat is an open site. There is always something to meet with or experience: from modest initiatives as “exhibition of the month” till grander events on the inner court and our own ambitious exhibitions.
All of this naturally transforms the Zebrastraat into a very vivid site, which above all attracts inhabitants who like variation and are not that much attached to regularity: visiting lecturers and Erasmus-students for example, or international research teams, artists, young couples, musicians, etc.
This mixture of inhabitants asks for adjusted rental formulas. The Zebrastraat responds to this by offering the possibility to rent an apartment for short periods with a certain forfeiting cost.
Moreover 2 apartments with 4 bedrooms are furnitured and decorated as Bed & Breakfast. They can be rented for shorter stays from a few days up to a few weeks.

Wonen in de Zebrastraat
Wie kiest voor De Zebrastraat, kiest voor een bijzondere manier van wonen. Het besloten ontwerp van de site, met zijn uitnodigend autovrije middenplein, stimuleert het contact tussen de bewoners. Hier kennen de mensen elkaar.
Tegelijkertijd is De Zebrastraat een open site. In de Zebrastraat valt immers altijd wel wat te ontmoeten of te beleven: van bescheiden initiatieven als "de expo van de maand" tot de grote evenementen op het middenplein en onze eigen ambitieuze tentoonstellingen.
Dit alles maakt van De Zebrastraat natuurlijk een erg levendige site, wat vooral bewoners aantrekt die houden van afwisseling en niet al te zeer gehecht zijn aan regelmaat: gastprofessoren en Erasmus-studenten bijvoorbeeld, of internationale researchteams, kunstenaars, jonge koppels, muzikanten, etc.
Deze bewonersmix vraagt om aangepaste huurformules. De Zebrastraat probeert hieraan tegemoet te komen door appartementen te huur te stellen voor korte periodes met een vast kostenforfait.
Daarnaast werden er - voor verblijven van enkele dagen tot enkele weken - 2 appartementen met 4 slaapkamers gemeubeld en ingericht als
gastenkamers met ontbijt.
